Muppy 18.99.0

Preview

This page describes Muppy 18.99.0, which is not released yet. What it describes is being delivered to the customers who asked for it as the release candidate 18.99.0-rc.1, and may still change before the release.

This release is about the Database Filter of an App Server, the regular expression that says which PostgreSQL databases belong to it. A filter written with Odoo's host placeholders now finds its databases, and a filter you typed yourself keeps its value. One small fix to SSH key handling completes it.

After you upgrade

If an App Server's Database Filter uses %h or %d, open its Database tab and click Update Databases List: its list of filtered databases fills again. Nothing else needs doing.

Database Filters

Odoo's %h and %d placeholders

Odoo lets a database filter name the host of the request: %h is the full host name, and %d its first label, so ^%d$ serves the database named after the sub-domain. Muppy now reads these placeholders when it builds the Filtered Databases list of an App Server: each one matches any host, so the list holds every database Odoo could serve under one of the application's host names.

Until you refresh, such an App Server shows an empty list, and a deploy finds no database to upgrade. The help of the Database Filter field now describes both placeholders.

A custom Database Filter keeps its value

When Custom Database Filter is ticked, the filter you typed stays as it is when you click Refresh, whatever generates the App Server's credentials.

SSH keys added after Muppy

When Muppy rewrites a user's authorized_keys file on a host, the file now ends with a newline. A key you append afterwards lands on a line of its own, and SSH accepts it.
